The primary function of the Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist is to perform quality diagnostic and therapeutic NM procedures on all patient populations of the hospital. NM procedures are performed in the NM section of the Radiology Department. This position must be well versed in the principles of radiation safety so that radioisotopes are prepared and administered in a safe manner. The NM tech must also be proficient in using PACS and teleradiology and possess good communication skills to effectively interact with physician, patients and coworkers. This position may also perform other related tasks such as assisting and transporting patients, performing data entry for exam tracking and dose management, managing supplies and other departmental duties as assigned.
NJ Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Tech and ARRT (NM)required.
