Job Summary

Responsible for assisting patients on the telephone and at the bedside with ordering meals. Enters menu selection into the Room Service Computer and generates meal tickets. Ensures that the meal selections are in accordance with the physician’s diet prescription. Maintains the Room Service Computers and cardexes based on diet order requisitions and ADT notices. Prints patient lists. Reviews patient information such as diet orders, lab values and food drug interactions. Exhibits excellent telephone communication skills and responds appropriately to calls received. Exhibits positive customer behaviors, serves as a patient advocate and responds to patient, family and visitor concerns. Participates in orienting new staff members and students. Orders and stores office supplies. Maintains daily operations in the diet office.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and the ability to read and write in the English language.
